An Egyptian journalist, art critic, and screenwriter, whose father was the late novelist Khairy Shalaby. His brother is director Islam Khairy, and his younger sister is the late actress Eman Khairy. He graduated from the Faculty of Mass Communication, Department of Journalism, He worked as a journalist at the Al Ahram Foundation. He held the position of editor-in-chief of Al Qahera newspaper, and he was also a member of several film and television arbitration committees. He's known for Our Master, Al Sayed (2012) and The Fourth Man (2022).
