An American child actress, born in Los Angeles, California, USA. She appeared on the silent screen when she was four years old and is considered the first child to speak in talking movies. She stopped when she was 22 years old. She worked under contract with MGM, Paramount, and Warner Brothers, became friends with Mickey Rooney, and appeared in some of his films. She graduated from the University of California, Los Angeles in 1941.
She returned to films in 1938 for some time, and after her final retirement from acting, she became a gourmet cook and a painter. She married Fred C. Wilson (1941-2006), they had three children, and he remained with her until his death. She's known for On Trial (1928), That Certain Age (1938), and Scouts to the Rescue (1939). She died in Los Angeles, California, USA, on September 10, 2012, at the age of 93.
