A Swiss director and writer, born in Zürich, Switzerland. From 2004 to 2006, he lived in Beijing, China, where he studied at the Central Academy of Drama and worked as an assistant on various cinematic productions. From 2006 to 2012, he studied film directing at the German Film and Television Academy Berlin (DFFB). He made his directorial debut in the 2004 short film Das Licht der Maschine. His notable works include Those Who Are Fine (2017), Unrest (2022), for which he won the Encounters Award for Best Director at the Berlin International Film Festival, and Lenny (2009).
