An internationally renowned conservator of old master and nineteenth-century paintings, who earned a BA in Art History from Barnard College, Columbia University, in 1968. She spent a year in Florence, Italy after graduating, where she studied drawing at the Academy of Fine Arts. She directed the restoration program at the Villa La Pietra. She is also a member of the Board of Directors of the Fondazione di Studi di Storia dell'Arte Roberto Longhi in Florence. She holds an MA and a Certificate of Advanced Study in Art Conservation and has also studied the conservation of mural paintings at the International Center for the Conservation of Cultural Property in Rome. She's known for The Lost Leonardo (2021).
