Shaimaa Saied |
An American stage and film actress, born in Saint Paul, Minnesota, USA. She began her career as a vaudeville artist, and worked on Broadway from 1902, presenting comedy and melodrama. Her career deteriorated in 1910, and she returned to work in 1915 with silent cinema and stopped in 1919, returning for a third time in the mid-forties until the early fifties after the introduction of sound in films. She married Orme Caldara (1906-1913) and their marriage ended in divorce. Among her notable works are Magic Town (1947), The Curse of the Cat People (1944) and The Emperor Waltz (1948). She died in Hollywood, Los Angeles, California, USA, on October 17, 1952, at age 74.
