He was an American actor and rodeo champion, born in New Jersey, USA. He participated in rodeo competitions for two years, and after breaking his bones, he traveled to New York to pursue art lessons and studied at the Art Students League. To obtain tuition fees, he worked as a model, and a talent agent saw him and encouraged him to act, and he signed a contract with Warner Brothers in 1942. He performed military roles during World War II and achieved success in the small roles that he presented. Then he moved to Paramount to obtain larger roles and continued to work in cowboy films, then returned to pursue his artistic work in oil painting. He also owned a diving equipment store and returned to acting in the 1970s and 1980s in cinema and television, and his oil paintings were displayed in the Los Angeles Museum and the Santa Paula Room. His notable works include The Fighting Stallion (1950), Hail the Conquering Hero (1944), and Danger Street (1947). Bill Edwards married twice and had one child. He died in Newport Beach, California, USA, on December 21, 1999, due to pneumonia and diabetes, at the age of 81 years.
