A Canadian actor, newscaster, radio presenter, and university professor of Icelandic descent, born in Manitoba, Canada. He worked as a singer for three years, then presented news bulletins, in addition to producing radio series through his own company. He recorded an album for children. He also taught screenwriting at the University of California, United States. His credits include The Fast and the Furious (1954), The Amazing Colossal Man (1957), and The Phantom Tollbooth (1970). He married actress and writer Jean Howell and they had three children. He died on March 15, 1976, in Santa Monica, California, USA.
