A French producer, actor, writer, director, singer, jazz pianist, bandleader, and composer, born to a Jewish family in Paris. Ray Ventura was married to actress Jacqueline Ventura (1953-1971) and they had two children before separating in divorce. His credits include Pigalle-Saint-Germain-des-Pres (1950), Vers patung in Marienborn (1963), The Lovers of Lisbon (1955), and Il gioco dells spie (1966). In 1925, Ray Ventura was a pianist in a musical band that he later led. He helped spread jazz music in France during the 1930s. He died in Palma de Mallorca, Balearic Islands, Spain on March 30, 1979, at the age of 70.
