Shaimaa Saied |
A British television, theater and film actress, born in Bristol, Gloucestershire, England, UK. She trained at the Royal Academy of Dramatic Art (RADA), and obtained a teaching diploma in elocution before appearing in West End theaters in central London. During World War II, she toured North Africa and Italy entertaining soldiers.
She worked at the Old Vic Theatre and the Stratford Theatre. She played the roles of widows, spinsters, and elderly ladies, in addition to Shakespearean roles. She married actor Gregory Scott (1948-1992) and he remained with her until her death. Among her notable works are The Great Muppet Caper (1981), Fawlty Towers (1979) and Please Sir! (1970). She died in Norwich, Norfolk, England, UK on May 24, 1992, at age 79.
