A British theater, film, and television actor, born in Birmingham, England, United Kingdom. Ian Lavender was married twice and had two children. Among his most important works are Come Back Mrs. Noah (1977-1978), Dad’s Army (1968-1977), Carry on Behind (1975), and Dad’s Army (1971). He is best known for his role in Dad’s Army, which he presented on television, radio, and cinema.
He joined the Bournville School and practiced his acting hobby in the school theater, then he went to the Bristol Old Vic Theatre School, with a grant from the city of Birmingham, and graduated in 1967, then appeared on stage in Canterbury, and his first television appearance was the following year, then he worked in cinema and radio, in addition to television and theater. Ian Lavender was diagnosed with bladder cancer in 1993. He likes cricket, golf, and gardening.
