An American actor and film editor, born in Hollywood, Los Angeles, California, USA. He was born into a family working in the film industry, as his father was an actor and stunt performer. He graduated from Hollywood High School and attended the University of Oregon. He worked as an actor in his childhood and youth, then began working as a film editor starting in 1966. Among his notable works are Rebel Without a Cause (1955), Demon Seed (1977), and Wild Side (1995). He married actress and producer Catherine Hader (1995–2015), with whom she remained until his death. He died of complications from Alzheimer's disease in Woodland Hills, Los Angeles, California, USA, on January 13, 2015, at age 79.
