In accordance with a statement attributed to Adel Imam concerning the scope of his daughter Imtehan’s role in cinema, in particular with regard to her assuming roles in explicit scenes and those scenes that include passionate kissing – the performed Samy El A’dl has joined the long list of performers that refuse to allow their daughters’ involvement in passionate scenes. In an interview with the television presenter Dina Ramez on the set of “Isma’ Kalamak” on the Nile Live channel, Samy has said: “Of course I would be bothered if my daughter were to participate in such scenes”, he also added that if she were to involve herself in such scenes then he would have nothing to do with the production. Interestingly, it should be noted that while El A’dl forbids his daughter from participating in passionate scenes – he has also asserted that he is critical of A’dil Imam’s statement that was to the same effect. El A’dl did not provide any explanation for this apparent contradiction. With regards to El A’dl sending his daughter, Rasha Samy El A’dl to a foreign location so that she could pursue her studies abroad - and what surrounded that event with rumors that seemed to imply that Samy El A’dl’s purpose in doing so was to distance his daughter from the film industry – Samy El A’dl has indicated that he was anxious that his daughter would be attacked and that he would be accused of imposing his daughter on the film industry as what happened with the cases of Rania Farid Shawqy and Rania Mahmoud Yassin. Samy El A’dl also added that his intention in sending his daughter abroad was so that she could prove herself abroad first and then return on her own volition to choose whether or not she wants to act.
