Artist Ramy A’iyash split up on Wednesday with his fiancé Shereen Abou Zein, niece of the former leader of the Druze sect. This comes after the couple had had their engagement several months prior. Ramy refuses to comment on this issue due to the fact that it pertains to his private life, moreover he believes that no one has the right to know the reasons for cancelling the engagement. Ramy has added that he will remain silent on the issue and that none other than himself has the right to know the details of the break up – this also extends to his manager who does not know the details of the break up despite his close relationship to Ramy. On another note, Ramy has finished recording his latest album which will be released within 20 days. It is thought that the album will include nine new songs which Ramy has collaborated on with major composers and writers, including Salim A’ssaf, Ramy Gamal, Jean Marie Riachy, Ayman Bahgat Qamar, Nazar Francis and Mohamed Yahya. With regards to the delays in releasing the album, Ramy’s manager has asserted that the album was ready before the World Cup – except that he and the producing firm (Melody) thought it wise to delay its release, especially considering that the Holy month of Ramadan was approaching. Moreover, the single “Al Nas Rayah” which he had performed with the artist Ahmed A’dawieh had met with great success and so there was a desire not to impinge on it negatively.
