George Michael Causes an Uproar at his Prison Facility and Receives Threats

Singer George Michael has caused an uproar behind the walls of his prison facility. He has received threats of physical attack while gang members have asked him to pay around 15 thousand dollars weekly for protection.The “Daily Star” newspaper has mentioned that inmates have warned George Michael that he could be subject to violent attack, or worse, at the prison and that gang members have asked him to pay 15 thousand dollars per week for protection.George Michael was received at the prison with shouts from inmates with some calling out “Where is George Michael? Bring us George Michael.”George Michael, who is 47 years old, will spend half his prison sentence at the facility, spending the other half under the supervision of probation services.Supervisors at the prison fear that inmates are preparing to take pictures of George Michael behind bars – something which would give him the opportunity to raise a claim against the prison for violating his rights.An official at the Ministry of Justice has mentioned that all famous prisoners represent a “problem” in that they attract a lot of attention but nonetheless authorities have the responsibility to protect all prisoners.A released prisoner has said that George Michael is imprisoned in the same wing where sex offenders are kept along with others who have committed serious crimes.It should be noted that Highbury Magistrates’ Court in London issued the ruling against George Michael which mandates his imprisonment for a period of two months. This ruling came after George Michael crashed his car at a Photo shop in London.At the court proceedings, George Michael confessed to having been driving under the influence of drugs when he was involved in the accident. Police reports from the incident indicate that on the 7th of July a man in his forties was arrested for driving under the influence of drugs after he crashed his car at a shopping center. Moreover, he was found in the possession of drugs and that it was learned that he is the singer George Michael. He was later questioned and released after a court date was set.Also worthy of note is that Michael has served a prison sentence which ended at the conclusion of last year. George Michael received that sentence after he was found in a vehicle while under the influence of drugs. George Michael has spoken openly about his drug problem stating that he is trying hard to lessen the habit.
