Performer Elham Shahin has rebuffed claims which were published recently concerning a conflict between herself and Ghada A’bd Al Razeq over the leading role in “Bonne Soiree”. Elham had earlier purchased the rights for the screenplay from writer Mahmoud Abou Zeid. Elham Shahin stated that she had purchased the script of “Bonne Soiree” from screenwriter Mahmoud Abou Zeid more than five years ago but added that she did not find the time to produce the film. Mahmoud Abou Zeid asked her about a year ago for a final response on whether or not she intended to produce the film and star in it. Thereupon Elham informed him that she will not produce the film and withdrew her earlier offer. Ghada explained that she did this because she believed that the present time was not appropriate for the production of such a film.Nonetheless Ghada’s annoyance was apparent when she was asked for her opinion on the film following its premier. Ghada then commented by saying that she has since distanced herself from the work after declining it and that she is not concerned with the final production asserting that no conflict exists between her and the work’s current stars. On another note Elham has confirmed that she is preparing to begin filming “Happy Valentine” which was held back pending the go-ahead from regulatory authorities. Moreover Elham has added that she will commence shooting following the conclusion of filming for her current series “Qadiyat Ma’ali Al Wazira” (“The Case of Her Excellency the Minister”). Ghada is also preparing to shoot two other films, the first is titled “Youm Lilsittat” (“Ladies’ Night”) and will see her star alongside Camilla Abou Zekry. The second title will witness her comeback as a producer following work on “Khaltat Fawziyah” (“Fawziyah’s Recipe”).
