Producer Sadeeq Dahhy has stated that he has concluded an agreement with performer Ahmed Mekky whereby Mekky will assume the leading role on a radio series titled “Sabah ya Sobhy” (“Wake Up Sobhy”). The series will be aired in Ramadan 2011 and utilizes a screenplay that was authored by A’laa Khalaf.Dahhy has further confirmed that the negotiations with Mekky over this work go back to 2010. Mekky had expressed his acceptance back then but was soon occupied with the filming of “Al Kabeer”. Thereafter Mekky suffered a broken leg while filming the aforementioned series, something which led him to put off the idea of recording the radio series in that year.On another note, Mekky is continuing to shoot the second part of “Al Kabeer” so that it could be aired during the next month of Ramadan. Film work on “Al Kabeer” was halted when Mekky’s leg was broken whilst shooting the first part of “Al Kabeer”. Thus Mekky elected to screen only 15 episodes of the work in Ramadan of 2010 with the plan to air the 15 remaining episodes in Ramadan 2011. The second installment of the series will feature the same talents as the first; Donia Samir Ghanem, Mohamed Chahine and Hisham Isma’il. Moreover, the second installment will also be directed by Islam Kheiry.
