Ashraf ‘Abd Al Baqy: Participation in the Revolution Takes Different Forms

Actor Ashraf ‘Abd Al Baqy has asserted that he is indeed participating in the revolution but in a different sort of way that does not take the form of sit-ins or demonstrating at Tahrir. Rather the actor states that he is taking part through participating in the organization of the popular committee attached to the neighborhood where he resides.Ashraf has indicated that, much like all other citizens, he has taken to the streets in order to protect his neighborhood from possible assailants. Moreover he has joined efforts to clean streets and to restore them to their usual state.A third way in which the actor has contributed to the revolution is by helping to contain the crisis resulting from the delays in the issuance of salaries. Thus the actor has contributed loans valued at a 100 pounds each. Those loans were used to purchase basic essentials and are intended to be repaid once banks reopen and salaries are issued.
