Asser Yassin was among the cohort of Egyptian artists who took part in demonstrations held at Tahrir. The youthful actor believes that Egyptian cinema will improve following the revolution of the 25th of January. To this effect Asser has explained that regulatory authorities will hold less of a sway over artists than they did previously. Thus artists will have more liberty and their efforts will be less restricted. More importantly, Yasser believes that the revolution has done a lot to change people’s attitudes towards many things including art and that therefore filmmakers will have the opportunity to produce more meaningful works.
