Following the withdrawal of Mahfouz ‘Abd Al Rahman from the television series recounting the biography of Egyptian economist Tal’at Harb the producing company has contracted Mohamed Sayyid ‘Eid to take up the task. Sayyid has welcomed the opportunity as he values biographical titles about historic figures that have impacted Egyptian society and led to change within it. Sayyid had previously worked on a biographical work about Qasim Amin - a figure who was central to the progression of women’s rights in Egypt in addition to other biographical titles about renowned scientist Mostafa Mashrafa and ‘Aly Mubarak who pioneered educational efforts in Egypt. It should be noted that the television series “Ragol li haza al-Zamman” (“A Man of this Age”) which presents the biography of Mostafa Mashrafa has yet to air due to the fact that director En’am Mohamed ‘Aly has yet to finalize work on the project. The title is epected to air soon and features performances by Ahmed Shaker, Manal Salama, Heba Magdy and Ibrahim Yousry. The work is produced by the Egyptian Media Production City Company.
