“Battle: Los Angeles” tops the US box office

The new sci-fi title “Battle: Los Angeles” has topped the North American box office this week. The production has thus far earned 36 million dollars in revenue in the three days since its premier. “Battle: Los Angeles” was directed by Jonathan Liebesman and features the talents of Aaron Eckhart, Bridget Moynahan and Michelle Rodriguez among others. The title centers around an attempt by the US Marines to fight off an alien invasion of the city of LA.In the mean time the animated production “Rango” has retreated to second place in the box office. The title has earned 23 million dollars in three days thus bringing the cumulative total of its revenue since its premier to 68.7 million dollars. The film was directed by Gore Verbinski and features Johnny Depp who voices the leading role in the title – a chameleon who is eager to become a hero and thus decides to defend his town from outlaws just outside the town’s gates.Third place in the box office was occupied by the new horror title “Red Riding Hood” which has earned 14.1 million dollars in three days. The film was directed by Catherine Hardwicke and stars Amanda Seyfried, Gary Oldman and Billy Burke among others.The romance movie “The Adjustment Bureau” has dropped from third to fourth place in the box office. The title has earned 11.5 million dollars in three days thus bringing its cumulative revenue since its opening to 38.5 million dollars. “The Adjustment Bureau” was directed by George Nolfi and stars Matt Damon, Lisa Thoreson, Natalie Carter and Emily Blunt among other talents.Animated film title “Mars Needs Moms” has come in fifth in the box office. The title has earned 6.8 million dollars in three days and was directed by Simon Wells.
