Artists Ahmed el-Sekka, Kareem ‘Abd Al ‘Azeez and Ghada ‘Adel have expressed their preliminary acceptance for participation in director Magdy al-Hawwary’s theatrical production “Haddoutta Masriyah” (“An Egyptian Tale”). The play will involve seven accounts from the January Revolution told throughout the days of the week whereby each star will narrate one of the stories. In an interview with “al-Fajr” newspaper al-Hawwarry has requested that anyone who took part in the January revolution and has a story which they would like to present should come forward with it immediately. The director’s original idea involved recounting the stories of the revolution at the hands of the revolutionaries themselves without input from the director except in some details which could adapt the stories to the form of tales and popular tradition.Al-Hawwary had previously announced that the lyrics to the songs of the theatrical production will be authored by poet Ahmed Fouad Negim. Musician Mohamed Mounir will sing in the play the revenues of which will be allocated to the reconstruction of Egypt.
