Actor Ahmed Mekky has completed shooting the final scenes for the second installment of the “al-Kabeer” television series. The second part of the series includes 15 episodes and is set to air in the upcoming month of Ramadan. The series revolves around a mayor named “al-Kabeer” who learns that he has a twin brother living in the United States. His brother subsequently returns to live with him in the village of “al-Mazarita”. The second part to the series will involve new scenes such as a match between a baseball team from “al-Mazarita” and a rival team from the United States. Mekky and the series’ crew had refused a proposal that the second part of the series take place in the United States following a journey undertaken by “al-Kabeer” to that country in order to visit his brother. Rather they preferred that all events take place in the village of “al-Mazarita” where comic scenarios are plentiful.Mekky received 150 thousand pounds for coming up with the production’s idea, he has also earned close to 5 million pounds for assuming the leading roles. The idea for the television series is credited to Ahmed Mekky. It was directed by Ahmed al-Guindy and stars Ahmed Mekky and Donia Samir Ghanem. Artist Samir Ghanem makes guest appearances in some of the second part’s episodes.
