Actor Asser Yasseen has agreed to perform the leading role in the film title “al-Wad’ Tahht al-Saytarra” after holding several meetings with the title’s writer Hany Fawzy. The latter has affirmed that the work has received the go ahead from regulatory authorities several days after the body had raised a series of objections with regards to the production’s focus on sectarian strife. This was despite the fact that the work simply casts a light on the phenomenon and its causative factors in an attempt to curb its appearance in the future – as per an opinion published in the “al-Masry al-Youm” newspaper. Fawzy further added: Asser was the ideal candidate for the role both in terms of his acting abilities and his appearance. Moreover the actor was among the youths of the revolution as he took part in it from its first day. This will make his character more genuine as he has lived through similar events in reality. Asser will portray a character named “Houdah Ghatata” – a bully available for hire for elections and demonstrations.
