To suit the recent political events, Othmaan Abu-Laban’s “Boat” sinks

Lebanese director Othmaan Abu-Laban decides to change his upcoming film’s finale to suit the recent political events in Egypt. In an interview with Rose al-Youssef newspaper, Abu-Laban said that he changed the name of the boat (the film’s main location) from “Bashaayer i.e. Tidings” to “Al-Mahroussa i.e. The Guarded” as a political symbol of Egypt. At the finale, the boat sinks, symbolizing the fall of the whole Regime.The film which will be released on June 15, tells the story of seven youngsters spending time together on a boat in the sea. Starring young actors; Yousra al-Lozy, Farah Youssef, Ahmad Haatem, Raamez Ameer, Reem Helaal and Ahmad Saad along with Ragha and Ahmad Fouaad Seleem.
