Nadine Labaki wins François Chalais prize at the Festival de Cannes

Lebanese actor and filmmaker Nadine Labaki won François Chalais prize at the Festival de Cannes XXXIV for her second feature film “Wa halla’ la wein i.e. Where do we go now?”, the only Arab film participating in “Un certain regard i.e. A certain glance”.Nadine, her husband the music composer Khaaled Muzannar and her sister the director Caroline Labaki attended the screening at the festival last Tuesday.It was reported that the cost of production of the film is approximately €4 million, the largest in Lebanese cinema history. The 110-minute film, produced by the French Anne-Dominique Toussaint is starring Claude Baz Moussawbaa, Layla Hakim, Nadine Labaki, Yvonne Maalouf and Antoinette Noufaily.
