Actor Nelly Kareem refused to link between the January Revolution and the cinema industry crisis. She thinks that the crisis has started long ago before the Revolution and coincided with the global financial crisis, which stopped funds and decelerated the external distribution. Then, the Revolution occurred and everyone, including actors, was talking politics rather than arts.Nelly said, in an interview with al-Shorouk newspaper;“Some producers were afraid and they stopped working for some time, which no one can blame them for, because security and economic conditions were not welcoming”.To solve the crisis, Nelly sees that "Work" is the only thing that could bring the situation to normal; it is a shared responsibility between the masses of artists, whether they are actors, technicians or production personnel. At the end, she expressed her optimism. The future of cinema would inevitably be affected by the consequences of the Revolution, saying that production will begin to return to its natural state after Ramadaan.
