Singer Carole Samaaha will soon return to Beirut to receive the “Murex d’Or” award, where her video clip “Khalleek bee haalak i.e. Stay away”, directed by Thierry Vergnes, won the best video clip award. The Murex d’Or is an award given each year to recognize achievements in the domain of art; music, cinema and TV, where a large number of artists and media persons attend the awards ceremony from all the Arab countries and the voting process is carried out electronically through the official website. Noteworthy, the word “Murex” is a Phoenician name, symbolizing success and excellence. On the other hand, Carole has recently recorded two songs of her cover album where Mahmoud ‘Eed made a new musical arrangement. The album, “Aghaany zamaan i.e. Old days songs” is a remix of some oldies originally sung by many great Arab singers representing more than a generation, like Abdul Haleem Haafez, Warda, Sabaah, George Wassouf and Zaky Naasseef.
