Youth Singer Hisham Abbas stated that he was eager to go to Tahrir on the day of "the battle of the camels" but his mother and wife stopped him and pleaded him to stay and told him there is no one to look after them if something was to happen to them. So instead he stayed home and prayer for the revolution on that day. As for his relationship with singer Tamer Hosni, he said that his negative attitude towards the revolution was driven by his fear and confusion and although his apology is enough, he will not communicate with him again because he believes that the real reason Tamer went to Tahrir was to gain more positive public image and to cause a media show and not for the good of the country. In an interview with Amr El Laithy of his program "No" Hisham said that he did not want to be in Tahrir repeatedly so people will say he is stealing the spot lights as the real spot lights belong to the youth and people of Tahrir who were there. He felt he will be more positive if he used his music to reach out to the people and convey their feelings through his songs.
