“The Camel Event” was an instigator for the legendary “Shadia’s” media appearance.

After retiring and 20 years of being out of the spot lights and away from any media appearances, legendary Shadia decided to break that code by making a phone call to TV host Amr El Laithy on his program “One of the People” , when she saw the calamities of what is called “The Camel Event”A couple of days after the Egyptian revolution broke out; there was a battle incident amongst Egyptians. Shadia felt that it is not only her moral duty but her duty as a mother to interfere and make this call in an attempt to stop this atrocity.In an interview to “Al Kawakeb” Magazine Shadia expressed her joy that all that massacring has finally stopped and life has gone back to normal the way it should be, and added that Egyptians should not be killing one another.
