Financial crisis threatens to cancel the series “The Second Wife”

Sara Galal producer of the series “The Second Wife” fears the worst has happened. There is a strong possibility of canceling her series or postponing it until further notice. Although the series has been planned for a while back and cast and crew have already started working on it, but producer Sara Galal is unable to carry the cost of production independently. The series is taken from the original movie by director Salah Abu Seif in 1967 carrying the same name and is considered one of the true Egyptian classics. The story is of an oppressive mayor who wants to re marry a second wife, and chooses one of the maids in his home and forces her husband to divorce her so he can marry her and when he does, she gets her chance of revenge.According to “Al Wafd” newspaper the economic situation the whole country is going through has affected many production plans including those of the series “The Second Wife” The cast and crew were meant to start shooting a while back but everything was disturbed by the up rise of the revolution. If the production sector in the Egyptian television does not adopt the series then it will never play by Ramadan 2012. The Second Wife is written by Yassin El Dawi and Ahmed Sobhy, the scheduled director will be Kamal Mansour and the nominated actress for staring in the series is Rania Youssef playing the role of late Suad Hosni and actor Salah El Sadaani playing the role of “Mayor” that was played by Salah Mansour, and Hala Fakher playing the role of the first wife that was originally played by legendary Sanaa Gammil.
