Director Akram Farid stated that his most recent movie “Dawlat Security” starring singer Hamada Helal which was released during Eid Al Adha is a strong competitor for the other 2 movies “X Large” for Ahmed Helmy and “Cinema Ali Baba” for Ahmed Mekki. In a statement to “Al Tahrir” newspaper, the director expressed his dismay at the lack of opportunities that his movie got in comparison to the other 2. While his movie is playing in only 5 theaters across the country, the other 2 movies are playing in 80 theaters across the country. He specifically mentioned Ahmed Mekki’s movie whose revenues are going down each day, claiming that the revenues made by his movie “Dawlat Security” are still going up. However, Farid did say that the idea for his movie is taken from the American movie “The Pacifier”, claiming that he only took the idea and not the actual events of the movie like Ahmed Hemly did in both his movies “Sorry for the Disturbance” and “1000 Congratulations” . Farid considers Helal one of the best actors he has ever worked with, and after the late Ahmed Zaki one of the best actors to impersonate an officer.
