SCAF (Security Council for Armed Forced) used the aid of the people in the three art unions to make up the advisory committee that it is composing to help in presenting new ideas in writing the new Egyptian constitution. The reason their aid was used to compose a constitution was to protect and promote art through the Egyptian constitution, as well as implement laws that protect artists.Chief of staff of the armed forces met with all 3 directors; director on Cinema union Mossad Foda, director of Musicians union Iman El Bahr Darwish and director of Actors Union Ashraf Abdel Ghafour. He listened to their suggestions of how they can implement ways of promoting art and artistic expression inside the constitution. The advisory committee’s mechanism of action is through a weekly meeting with its members, followed by a monthly meeting with SCAF that is ongoing until the constitution is written.
