In a statement made by actor Mohamed Riyad to Al Sherook newspaper, the actor declared that he is currently busy with reading the script and the biography of the late sheikh Abu Hamed Mohamed Ben Mohamed El Ghazali, for his role in the new series he is about to start filming. This series has been on the agenda since 2007, and has absolutely nothing to do with the success of the Islamic parties in the parliament, nor is it affiliated with any other political party, argues Riyad strongly. That same role was offered to actor Kamal Abu Raya, but Kamal declined. Riyad doesn’t find it uncomfortable or unprofessional for him to accept work that a colleague of his has refused in the past.Riyad also added that his wage is not one million Egyptian pounds as claimed. He was forced along with many of the cast and crew to decrease their wages to allow the series a better chance of success, not only that but due to the current economical situation the country is undergoing.“Al Imam Al Ghazali” is the 6th biography played by actor Mohamed Riyad. The series is written by Mohamed El Sayed Eid and directed by Ibrahim El Shawady.
