"Oscars"....... The artists dream

The dream of Americans actors, writers and directors that Egyptians consider as an international Award. In fact, it's an American local award given only for the best American movie, unlike the huge international film festivals like: "Cannes","Venice", and "Berlin" The Award is bestowed by the American Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences (AMPAS) and it includes 6000 member including a voting membership of 5,816 actor and actress. Moreover, the Academy organizes Oscar competitions for non graduated college students. According to the official Academy Awards Rules the film must be exposed in cinemas in the previous calendar year from January 1st till the end of December 31st, in Los Angeles County, California while other festivals conditions to display the movie before marketing it. Because of the huge propaganda this Award has been known as the most famous in the cinema world between Egyptians. However, the American film industry is not the best ever as we can find that the cinema in Europe and Japan is totally as good as the American if it isn't much better.This Award has some political purposes as giving it to the first black actors "Halle Berry" and "Denzel Washington" in 2002 right after the crises of the two American towers collapse in order to reunite the citizens. In 2010, it was also obvious when the Award was given to a very poor movie: "The hurt locker" because it glorifies the U.S. military in Iraq while "Avatar" the most publicly recognized movie didn't receive the award because it exposes the U.S army abuses.The Oscar or the Academy Awards is important but isn't as huge has it's reputation describes.
