After meeting with the Tunisian Ambassador, musician Hani Mohanna announces through that the Tunisian people are the only ones entitled to choose who is welcome in their country. Muhanna went to meet the ambassador with the Egyptian Creativity Front that included director Khaled Yousef, musician Ammar Al Sheriei, Dr. Medhat Aladl and Mostafa Kamel on behalf of the musicians union. This visit was a result to the statement made by the Tunisian Minister forbidding singers Sherine Abd El Wahab, Tamer Hosni, Nancy Ajram, Elissa and Fadel Shaker from participating in Corthage Festival and he added they will only enter Tunisia “over my dead body”!Mohanna refused any apology from the ambassador as he feels that this incident is larger than that. He also expressed his shock from this statement that Tunisia is now calling for freedom of speech and democracy after the revolution, and something like this never happened before as the former Tunisian First Lady always left this choice for the Tunisian people. As for the minister using the expression “over my dead body”; Mohanna thinks it is shameful from him as those singers are Arabs and not Israelis!
