Although that the rules of the "American Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences" (AMPAS) which returns to 1950 Prohibit selling or gaining any money from the Oscar status, some of the artists heirs sold the status for a huge amount of money. Yesterday Kodak theatre where the Oscars takes place, witnessed an auction to sell some of the Oscars that included the award of Outstanding Motion Picture given to "Citizen Kane"(1941) in addition to the best screenplay award for "Wuthering Heights"(1939) and the award of "How Green was My Valley" as best movie. However the Academy denounced these actions saying that the value of the status lies in its honoring value not its financial value that's why it mustn't be sold.Because the rules were enacted in 1950, The Academy has no legal way to stop this sort of selling except to aware people to the importance of these awards.
