"Al Khourog Mn Al Kahera" is prevented from being in public

The director Hisham Esway felt sorry for the decision of the Artistic Works censorship which stopped exposing his movie "Al Khourog Mn Al Kahera"-"Out of Cairo" in Luxor Festival for African Cinema and described it as returning back to the ages of ignorance.Moreover, Esawy denounced the decision of the censorship head, Dr. Sayed Khatab who is just expressing his own opinion with some of other judges but they doesn't have the right to decide what do 85 million people should watch. Despite censorship preventing the movie, some top critics like Samir Farid and Tarek El Shenawy has highly recognized it in their articles.He also surprised why the censorship didn't notify the festival administration with withdrawing the film from the competition before advertising and printing its posts. The matter that caused a financial and artistic loss as it was eligible for any other movie to participate instead of" Al Khourog Mn Al Kahera"-"Out of Cairo" the only long feature movie that represents Egypt.On the other hand, Esawy was very pleased with the support of the Egyptian Front creativity while he decided not to take any action against the censorship members and to leave this matter to the film producer Sherif Mandour.Although the Artistic Works censorship prevented exposing the movie in Luxor Festival for African Cinema (that was held on the 21st of February and lasted till 28th of February) contending that the movie affects the Copts image, a number of intellectuals and the Egyptian Front creativity considered this action as restricting freedoms.
