After a few weeks and many statements from the Egyptian Artists union and the Egyptian Creativity Front, it turns out that the statements said to be made by the Tunisian Minister of Culture about the parciptation of some Egyptian singers were not true after all! Dr. Nabil Rizq, president of Artists Union, received a phone call from the Tunisian embassador Mr. Mahmoud Al Khamiry regarding a reply the last received from the minister, regarding forbidding Tamer Hosni and Sherine from participating in Corthage Festival along with Elissa and Nancy Ajram and Fadl Shaker. In the reply, which was an official letter, the Minister denied stating such decision and that Festival's committees chose the artists based on specified criteria and audience opinion. He also said that all Egyptian and Arabic artists are welcome to participate in all festivals in Tunisia which can be more than 400 festivals. The Minister thanked the union for requesting this clarity. In return, Wael Al Tanahi, Head of Musicians in the Egyptian union, clarified that all Tunisian artists are welcome to work in the union and they have stopped the previous decision of pausing dealing with them until this clarification was received from the Minister.
