Lots of details where revealed in the press conference held yesterday Sunday at 7pm in Movenpick Elharam for the new series "Om El Sabereen". The series is a biography of the Islamist activist Zainab El-Ghazaly from her childhood till her death. Lead actors Rania Mahmoud Yassin, Tareq El Desouki and Khaled Mahmoud attended with director Ahmed Ismail El Hariry and script writer Ahmed Ashour along with a group of young actors. With many obstacles that tried to prevent this project from starting, Rania expressed her happiness for portraying such a respectable figure that suffered from a wide media blackout and said she is worth fighting for. She denied that the series is related to the Muslim Brotherhood and it is not flirting with their current ruling and also denied that the series showed a dark side of Gamal Abdel Nasser ruling.As for director El Hariary, he said that he doesn't take sides with the Muslim Brotherhood, but he admitted he carries respect for them. He also said that the heirs of El-Ghazaly helped with the making of the biography while others were the obstacles in its way.Portraying Sheikh Mohamed El-Ghazali, Zainab's father, is Tareq El Desouki who is happy to be casting in the series that is about a person who has a rich life that deserves to be in the spotlight. Sheikh Mohamed had a role in Zainab's life only for a short period as he died when she was a child. With the current situation, El Desouki expressed his appreciation for the producers that will take on the cost of this piece of art as it is not supported by a big company like the National TV or the Media Production City. As for Khaled Mahmoud, he will be playing the role of Zainab's younger brother Mohammed who was jealous from her intelligence so he convinced their older brother to make her drop out of school. After being in a car accident, Mohamed feels guilt so he decides to help Zainab in her Islamic Call career."Om El Sabereen" will not be in formal Arabic and it will be dubbed into French and Turkish.
