It's confirmed: Gary Ross won't be directing The hunger Games 2

After nearly 3 weeks of going back and forth and consecutive press releases about Gary Ross' return to direct the 2nd part of the blockbuster "The hunger games" it was officially confirmed that he's done with the Triolgy.The most recent reports stated that financial problems between him and Lionsgate that made him disclaim, but it was later stated that they were renegotiating.The Playlist published yesterday Ross' final announcement that he won't be directing the 2nd part claiming that it has nothing to do with financials but with lack of time before filming starts.Lionsgate has already announced they must start filming by August and finish before July due to Jennifer Lawrence's in X-men First Class 2.Ross also added that he is very happy about directing The hunger games and that he considers it the highlight of his career. He also thanked all who worked with him including Jennifer Lawrence, Nina Jacobson the producer and even author Suzanne Collins.Lionsgate has released an official statement saying they are very sorry that Ross won't be directing the 2nd part as they really wanted him to, after his great efforts in 1st one. They emphasized that it doesn't mean the end of Gary Ross with Lionsgate and we are sure to see him in other projects with the company.The 2nd part of the triolgy will be titled "Catching fire", his director is yet to be determined in the next 3 weeks to make sure everything goes as planned. It will be released November 2013.
