Arabic Filmmakers are supported by Germany.

Within the 5th Gulf Film Festival events, a German NGO announced its initiative to support filmmakers in the Gulf and the Arabic region in general. “Robert Bosch Stifung” will give an award of 60,000 Euros to three films under three categories: Animations, Documentaries and Short Films to produce a German-Arabic film.The German organization will start workshops at the beginning of this week in different parts of the Arab World to bridge communication between German producers and Arabic directors. Later, an extra workshop will be held in Amman, the Jordanian capital and another city in North Africa.Applications must be submitted before 1 October 2012 by groups and not individuals and each group must be composed of German members and Arabic cinematic experts and their ages must be between 18 and 35 years old. Each group should consist of a director, producer, a cinematographer and a script writer. The director of each group must present a film sample, with an explained manuscript of the project and the budget of production as the film must be produced in Germany and the Arabic country in order to emphasis the cultural interaction.The final list selected will include 15 films – 5 films in each category- where they will get a fruitful opportunity to participate in training sessions held by “Robert Bosch Stifung” and the “Berlinale Talent Campus” held at the 2013 Berlin International Film Festival. The award will be given to a winner film in each category.
