Amir El-Omary, director if Ismailia International Film Festival for short films and documentaries, announced the addition of a new section to next year's edition called "A look at the past - Egyptian Nostalgia"; a section that revisits old documentaries and short films created by directors at the beginning of their career.He added that he aims at creating a connection between generations and revisiting the old films and renovating them to be ready for screening in cultural centers in and out of Egypt. That is mainly because he wants the effect of the festival to take place all year long and not just during its period.The most notable films to be revisited are "El Batikha", a short film for Mohamed Khan in 1969, 4 documentaries for Dawood Abdel Sayed, "El Moqayda" for Atef El-Tayeb, "Hayah Gadeeda" for Ashraf Fahmy, "Tobool" for Said Marzouq and "Meataf" for Hussein Kamal.All film copies will be turned to digital to be ready for screening and will be presented to cultural centers and festivals. Also, some of the filmmakers will attend to discuss their films after their screening.The 15th edition of the festival will take place between the 23rd till the 28th of June, organized by the National Center for Cinema.
