The launch of the Tangier Mediterranean Short Film Festival in October.

The Moroccan Cinematography Center announced organizing the 10th edition of the Tangier Mediterranean Short Film Festival from 1 to 6 October 2012.The festival includes an open competition where directors from Mediterranean countries made films in 2011 and 2012 and will include discussions regarding those films.Also, the festival will include screening of films between 4 and 45 minutes long in its original version translated in Arabic, French and English. The festival aims to develop directors meetings and to encourage young directors. Films will be competing on many awards like "Grand Festival Award", "Jury's Award", "Achievements Awards", "Best Original Script Award", "Best Role Award" and "Youth Award".Last year's festival's edition; the Turkish film "Bike" directed by Sarhan Karaslan was awarded the Grand Award. Also, in that edition, three Algerian films participated and they are "Algeria Tomorrow" by Amin Sidi Bumdeen, "Qracoz" by Abdel Nour Zahzah and "Man in fornt of Mirror" by Zakarya Saidany.
