Mohamed Saber Arab, the Minister of Culture, released the final decision about the Cairo International Film Festival and assured that it is going to be held this year and on time.Arab demanded the festival's organizing committee and all members associated to combine all efforts to make this festival successful in this run and that the Ministry is determined to launch it and support all parties working on it.Since the festival's last year edition was cancelled due to the security situation in Egypt after the 25Jan revolution; the International Producers Guild in charge of 12 international festivals that include Cannes, Venice, Berlin and Cairo sent a letter of notification that the Cairo Festival must be launched this year as it is a member of this guild. If for any reason it didn't, then the guild might consider cancelling this membership. On the other hand, director Magid Ahmed Ali, president of the National Center of Cinema revealed he is against the Ministry taking charge of this festival. Him and other fellow artists said that the court ordered the festival should be run by the Cairo Festival Association and Cinema Industry Chamber member Mohmaed El Adl announced it is must be separated from the Ministry especially with the country being run now by the Muslim Brotherhood.
