69th Venice Film Festival: The Results are in!

The 69th edition of the Venice International Film Festival ended its events yesterday and presented the winners with its most prestigious awards.The South Korean "Pieta" nailed the Golden Lion award for Best Picture, "The Mater" by Paul Thomas Anderson walked away with the Silver Lion and its lead actors Phillip Seymour Hoffman and Joaquim Phoenix shared Best Actor Award. Best Actress Award went to Hadas Yaron for her role in "Fill the Void".Australian film "Paradise: Glaube" won the Jury's Special Award and French director Olivier Assayas won Best Original Script for his drama in "Apres Mai". Best Cinematography went to the Italian Daniele Cipri for his film " È E Stato Il Figlio".As for the Marcello Mastroianni Award which is given to the best emerging actor or actress; it went to Italian actor Fabrizio Falco for his roles in " È Stato Il Figlio" and "Bella Addormentata".
