Pop superstars Shakira and Rihanna received a strongly-worded letter from Amnesty International requesting them to not participate in the FIFA under 17 Women World Cup celebrations which is taking place in Baku, Azerbaijan.Amnesty pointed out on the excess of human rights abuses on the people of Azerbaijan by the government especially after the arrest of some reporters, bloggers and political activists. Amnesty were hoping that the singers would re-think their performance in a country that doesn't give it's people the legal amount of freedom and liberty and hoped that they would support for their request for the Azerbaijan government to grant this freedom of speck for its people. Till date, both stars didn't reply to this letter, however, since Shakira had already apologized for participating in iHeartRadio festival in Las Vegas; it is highly predictable that she might also apologize for performing in Baku.
