Culture Ministry: Cairo Film Festival Postponed Due to "Difficult Circumstances"

The Culture Ministry released an official statement announcing that the opening events of the 35th Cairo International Film Festival would be postponed due to current affairs. The festival was scheduled to begin November 26, but is now being pushed back to November 28.

The ministry said though it is delaying all festivities, it is committed to holding the festival at its annual time despite the difficult circumstances Egypt is experiencing. It reinforced its commitment to keep Egypt at the forefront and maintain its strength in international forums like the festival.
