Exciting news is coming out now that Academy Award winner Charlize Theron is in the final stages of negotiations to star in Seth MacFarlane's comedy-western "A Million Ways to Die in the West." According to Hollywood Reporter, she would be playing the wife of a famous outlaw whom the male lead falls in love with. On screen, Theron will be giving shooting lessons to the lead in a last ditch attempt to win back his ex-girlfriend.

MacFarlane, the creator behind last year's hit comedy "Ted" and the brilliant "Family Guy," for which he also voices the lovable idiot Peter Griffin, first announced he was developing a "Blazing Saddles" style comedy last year. Being the jack-of-all-trades that he is, MacFarlane will be co-writing, directing and starring in the film, though it's still unclear whether he'll take up the helm as the male lead. MacFarlane is bringing on his "Ted" screenwriters Alex Sulkin and Wellesley Wild.

Theron is far from a one-note actress. She's shown her comedy chops on the likes of "Arrested Development" and "Young Adult." She most recently starred in "Prometheus" and "Snow White and the Huntsman." Meanwhile, MacFarlane is gearing up to host the Oscars on February 24.
