Ben Affleck's "Argo" crowned with BAFTA Best Film Award

The 66th British Academy Film and Television Arts Awards (BAFTAs) named Ben Affleck's "Argo" the Best Film of the year. He also received the Best Director award for his film.

Daniel Day-Lewis continues collecting awards as he received the BAFTA for leading actor for his outstanding performance in "Lincoln" and to the surprise of many, 85-year-old French actress Emmanuelle Riva received the BAFTA for leading actress for her role in "Amour."

"Django Unchained"'s Christoph Waltz won the best supporting actor award and as expected Anne Hathaway won the best supporting actress for her role in " Les Misérables.”

Quentin Tarantino managed to snatch the best original screenplay BAFTA for "Django Unchained" and David O. Russell won the best adapted screenplay for "Silver Linings Playbook."

" Les Misérables" snatched another three BAFTA's: best production design, best hair and makeup and best sound.

And making many fans happy and honoring the new film of the James Bond series, "Skyfall" won outstanding British film with BAFTA marking a golden 50th anniversary for the series and the great musician Thomas Newman received a BAFTA for best original music.

William Goldenberg received the best editing BAFTA for "Argo" and as expected best cinematography went to Claudio Miranda for "Life of Pi," which also won best visual effects.

"Amour" didn't disappoint anyone after winning a second BAFTA for best film in a foreign language, while "Searching for Sugar Man" received best documentary and young actress Juno Temple received best rising star BAFTA.

In the animation category, "Brave" received the best animation BAFTA and "The Making of Longbird" won the BAFTA for best animation documentary/short film.
