Though she missed the entire ceremony, actress Mila Kunis has rushed to defend Seth MacFarlane's controversial performance as host of the 85th Oscars. This is after all her boss on "Family Guy," for which she voices the part of Meg, and the director of her 2012 comedy " Ted."

While on a press junket for her new film " Oz the Great and Powerful," Kunis told press, "I was flying so I missed all of it, literally, I was told though that he did an amazing job, and I'm sure that he did a fantastic job. I believe that Seth was born to host the Oscars." She also described him as "brilliant" and "so talented."

MacFarlane has caught a lot of flack for the sexist tone of his gimmicks, particularly a number called " link," in which he listed all of the movies in which viewers could see A-list actresses breasts' exposed, including scenes in which they were victims of rape. James Franco, who stars in "Oz" as the title character, also gave his stamp of approval, despite not having seen the ceremony either.

Controversy aside, "Oz the Great and Powerful," in which Franco plays the Oz to the three witches, Mila Kunis, Michelle Williams and Rachel Weisz, comes out in theaters on March 8.
